Le Palais Bonaparte, also known as Aste Rinuccini, is an architectural gem located on Piazza Venezia in the Pigna neighborhood of Rome. Its history dates back to the time when architect Giovanni Antonio de Rossi tirelessly worked from 1657 to 1677 to bring this masterpiece to life.
A Palace in the Hands of Great Families
Over the years, the palace has witnessed the rise and fall of various noble families. In 1699, it passed into the hands of the Marquis Rinuccini before being acquired in 1818 by Maria Letizia Ramolino Bonaparte, the mother of Napoleon Bonaparte herself! She resided there until her death in 1836, adding an imperial touch to the palace.
A Residence Transformed into a Cultural Space
Since 1905, the palace has been owned by the Marquis Misciattelli before finally being acquired by Assitalia, a company of the Generali Group, in 1972. But the story doesn't end there! Thanks to a partnership between Arthemisia and Generali, the Palais Bonaparte has been lovingly and passionately renovated, and since July 9, 2019, it has been open to the public for magnificent art exhibitions.
